If Its Not Broken Don't Call?

Hope she kept in touch with her friends.....

A lot of my friends blogs talk about friends and how they love to have them around and believe me I'm right there with them. However have you ever had those friends that you never hear from unless something goes majorly wrong? Like for instance something breaks and they need help fixing it that's the only time you hear from them on the phone? I'm not the best at keeping up with friends on the phone but if I am called and they need help i usually am first to jump on it and help out. But i am beginning to wonder do you call those friends? If they were friends of yours wouldn't they at least pop you an email every so often to see if your still alive? If they saw you on Facebook or Myspace wouldn't they at least leave a comment every so often just to keep in touch? I do that a lot just to see if my friends both "Net friends" and real life friends are both doing OK. As much as I think about it on a daily basis i still find myself not able to leave a friend behind. If i have known you for a while and consider you a friend believe me when i say i got your back. But hey it doesn't hurt to check in from time to time when somethings not broken. So if you haven't heard from me in a while don't worry i usually work around to emailing but more than likely something won't be broken when i do.

Return From the Depths

Cant wait for this type of weather to come back.

Woah last semester had me running like crazy I'm sorry to anyone who still actually reads this that i have not been posting but i was working my #%* off last semester. There was so much work to do and so little time it was crazy!! So time for a quick update. I passed my EPA test and i am universally certified to work on any air conditiong system, i have 1 more semester of my core diesel program to go then its graduation time, looks like i might be graduating with honors. There is something here call a Technical Honor Society I'm hoping to get in there for graduation but i think the times my car went out and i missed some hours from school might knock me out of that. But i mean come on what am i supposed to do i missed 5 hours of class (and not even whole hours if your 5 mins late you loose and hour) out of 6 months i think that's pretty darn good. But i will see what i can do to get in there. I will be glad to make my parents proud. Keep me in prayer i need it lol. One more semester to go ........

Dress Up Or Don't Care?

Shes not going to Wendy's to eat.
I was talking with a friend on the Internet and the subject came up of dressing up for your girlfriend or boyfriend. She said:
Her : "If my boyfriend doesn't like the way i look when we go out then he can look elsewhere."
Me: " So you mean to tell me if you go out to eat with a guy, and you all go to a restaurant and
you decided not to dress up or bother to do your hair your just like skip it. You would be fine with him looking at the hot girl who did bother to do her hair and shes sporting some 34DD chest and a red dress with a split up the side?" What woman in the world would ever let that slide?"
Her: "Well not everyone likes girls with big boobs."
Me: "What ever that's beside the point. If I was taking a woman out and she did not care enough to at least dress up not for everyone else but for me .... yeah we wouldn't be going out .... well maybe to Wendy's or McDonald's.
I don't know maybe i still have the wrong idea as i always say I'm not the average guy and seems like I'm born in the wrong era but i thought the man and woman should complement each other. And not only that you should want to look good period when going out you should want to look good for your boyfriend or girlfriend. OK now if your doing dishes or bumming around the house or just going to do laundry that's a different story then heck yeah don't wreck your good stuff. But to not want to at least bother to put on some good jeans and a shirt when that's how you snagged the guy anyway, heck yeah hes going to start looking elsewhere. Well it turns out she would at least try to put on some better stuff although shes not a fan of makeup which i can understand not every one needs it but don't say he can look at other ladies cause i know for a fact no girl on this earth would let that slide.... or at least i hope standards haven't slipped that far.

Back to work

Well back at school and so far it hasn't been to bad. This class was promised to be the hardest of all the classes we have to take but only because we have an EPA test. Now from what i heard this test is around 200 questions and its supposed to trip you up in every way imaginable so this should be a good battle. Only bad news is that this legendary test comes right on my birthday......... great eh? What better way to spend your birthday than slaving over a 200 question test for 2 hours. No I'm being sarcastic. But in all gladness ill be one more year older i have to say i have probably matured to legendary standards where i used to want to fire back when people crack jokes about me now I'm like what ever. A guy in class was taunting me about my nonchalant attitude "Your just full of your self arn't you??" Nah not really i got nothing to prove I'm just trying to pass and pretty much don't care what others think. Remember folks people can talk about you all they want they are not not your creator. If they have jokes so what they need to get a life. Apparently they have nothing better to do than to look at others and try to pick out something they think is wrong when actually they are more than likely trying to cover us something about themselves they want no one else to notice. So next time someone had jokes or is point a finger let it roll off your should and realize not only are you bigger than them you have better things to do.

Legendary Love

Sorry man not on my list
Here come the questions again. "Hey man when are you going to settle down and find a nice girl to have a family with?" Easy answer to that ..... Never. Come on when have you ever seen a lady that would want an actual car in their living room. Well that's what i plan on having when i make my loft out of an old shop. And with my style that i want to decorate it in no lady is going to want diamond plate counter tops or a Japanese style hot spring bathroom. More than likely they would want to move or redecorate my place in to some kind of pastel nightmare and my beloved cars would end up outside. Not going to happen sorry bout that maybe when I'm 90 or perhaps if the lady was wearing some cat ears..... (inside joke).

Legendary Dishes

Yes those have been sitting there for a month.

Well I'm back in Detroit and cant say I'm not happy! long bus ride that i slept through was 8 hours but thanks to a no bus switching ticket i got to sleep in my seat and not have to move or risk loosing my beloved window seat. Pretty much it took around 9 1/2 hours because of some unexpected stops to get people off that were on the wrong bus but what did i care i was snoozing. As i horribly found out on the day i left i had to clean out the refrigerator of all perishable stuff in case we for some reason don't come back. This lead to a cook fest for me to get rid of all the meat i had in there and everything else that could spoil. This seems majorly stupid if i don't come back and things start to rot hell my room mates should toss it out. But i guess that would be saying too much because that pile of dishes in the picture has been there for over a month. I moved them out of the sink because all the trash that comes from washing dished got underneath and started to rot and clog the sink so i tossed them on the side. I'm not doing their dished cause I'm not a maid so they have to take care of their own stuff. I keep my room super clean and i always do my dishes cause i know it i let it get all jacked up everyone would complain and i know have been complaining about those dishes.

I finally figured out why i could never find my way back to the bus stop in Pittsburgh. Turns out that the bus station is actually a temporary bus station and no one ever decided to update the website or anything else that marked where the bus station was. Not only that but the streets in Pittsburgh are kind of crazy! The street is 2nd street that the station is on but it actually runs underneath a street called Ave of Allies. So the GPS cannot tell you that the street is precisely under a bridge that is another street. Strange is all i can say.

Back Again Time For Round 3

Sorry no updates in a while I'm going to get back to every other day i have been struggling with a nasty sinus infection and various forms of the flu since almost the whole school is sick. I am back on my feet and ready to get back to regular updates. Nothing much has happened since the last update well nothing that's like super exciting but i have been doing a bunch of brainstorming mostly about girls / relationships since a lot of talk around here is about that (get a ton of guys together what else you going to talk about) and all i have to say so far is until i can find a drama free girl no girlfriends for me (more on this later). I planned on writing about my trip home over thanksgiving but due to me carrying too much stuff i think i left my cable to download pictures back in Detroit. Not a big deal though ill be going back in 2 weeks so ill pick it up then. But my journey there and back was something to behold so tune in next time for: "You parked your car in the train parking garage for four days with your dome light on".

Insert Hero's Walk Here

Shooting down projects like Dante

I have to say I'm blessed. I some how managed to fight back from eighty-eight percent in the class and a extremely worried and confused shop partner to a 94.5% grade in the class. I scored 3rd on the final and only by 8 points was i from the leader. God is good. Using some mad hustle in the shop and focusing on getting stuff done, we pulled out from behind (despite and incident with me getting hit with a hammer by my partner) and got all the projects done. We squeezed out 2 more additional projects and i managed to come in the top 3 on my shop test to combine together and give me a 94.5! I'm like super stoked sure I'm not up there with the Elite guys but my class room grade was in the top 5 but the shop grades of other teams who completed EVERYTHING that was possible pulled them ahead. Well next semester starts Monday, guess it is true..... no rest for the wicked...... wickedly sweet!

Battle Stations

Nothing like going home after a hard days work.

Went into shop today guns blazing (not literally), and feeling pretty good. My shop partner wasn't so confidant but i was i figured we would smash this out and get it over with as long as the hammer stayed in the drawer. I grabbed some tools and got to work spec ed everything out and bam she was done. With something going slightly better than Friday my shop partner was finally fired up and he was ready to get some work done. We knocked out 2 more projects leaving 1 left with 2 and 1/2 days to go. What I'm hoping to do is get in to class tomorrow knock this test out and hit the shop hard. If god willing we finish early we can start working our grade higher by doing extra credit. I worked hard today time for a nap. Wait the building is shaking guess that severe weather advisory was true after all. Oh well nothing like rain to get a better nap eh?

Mentally Exhausted

Pretty much the same expression I had by the end of the day.

You know, I think its actually worse to be mentally exhausted than physically exhausted. The work I put in mentally at school when working with my partner seems more grueling than the actual physical work. I don't mind hes never actually done any mechanic work, everyone has to start some where but when you don't listen to instructions from the teachers or just ignore the procedure and instructions for something ... that can get to be a bit much. For instance today we were installing the back gear box to a Fuller 9 speed transmission. OK just so you know assembled it weighs 750lbs and is pretty much one of the biggest transmissions i ever worked on. The back gearbox weighs about 90 to 120lbs so you need a hydraulic lift to carry the thing its no way you can hold it and install it on to the back of the transmission and engage the gears.

So we have this back box and the instructions say, "using the lift to support the back box, place the back box gears in mesh with the transmission gears and then turn the input shaft and let the box gears pull the box onto the transmission. Do not force the back box onto the transmission as gear binding will occur." OK so i guess he missed the bold print part because when the back box decided that it didn't want to cooperate he broke out the hammer. Now its late in the day i had taken 2 tests and dealt with all the non instruction reading, step skipping, and hammer using I could stand for the day so i sat idly by and watched the back box being pounded on. When the instructor came to check our work and he went to rotate the transmission to see if it was installed correctly guess what.... it was binding! So with this being the 3rd day we have worked on this transmission and time running out we didn't have time to waste. I can see if it was an error because we didn't know what to do and we just did it wrong, but this was a just plain lets get it done who gives a #$^% mistake. So the last hours of the day were spent taking the whole back box back off and this time not using a hammer and it worked. Bad news is we have 3, possibly 4 more days to get the shop work completed or we wont get a good grade. Come Monday the law just might have to get laid down, either work according to the instructions or I'm working alone.

Instruments of Destruction

I am grateful for being a male ( sorry ladies but yeah i couldn't live with those issues) but dog gone it I'm sick of shaving my face every day and my face is letting me know its not happy. Pretty much every time i shave I'm bleeding from about 5 to 6 places and I'm using a sensitive skin shaving cream. My face just is not every day blade approved or something cause the burning afterward (no not Home Alone aftershave scene here) it annoying and not to mention painful. Guess all i can say is ladies just be glad you don't have to deal with this too.

Smash Somethin'

Well something did get smashed but turns out it was my finger. My partner in my diesel class well turns out he has never worked on anything so hes not quite adept to telling someone to move their hand before he drops a 30lb 18wheeler pinion gear assembly on their hand. Yep have a nice blood blister and my whole finger is a nice shade of plum. Well one good thing though i have master the art of typing 4 fingered! Sorry about the non frequent updates I swear I am going to get back on a every other day schedule. I had to get used to what kind of schedule we have here and get a few things straightened out with the roomates i have here in the apt. But so far after four weeks its not so bad i have gotten into the regular swing of come home, study, eat, study, warcraft, study, sleep. But i swear ill put blog in there some were.... come on you gotta believe me.

Boot Camp Aint Got Nothin On This

prelude to a sweet computer

Well there should be a picture of the school there but unfortunately i kinda deleted them off my camera and well..... that was that. Sorry i have been gone so long but it was a crazy build up to moving to PA and going to school.

Lets start off with my lovely jeep. Right after i decided to go my drivers side door decided it wanted to leave the car. Well i didn't get to that problem at the time but i noticed my brakes were not going to be up to the task of getting me stopped on some of the what seems to be 45 degree angled hills here. So upon examining the brakes i noticed that apparently the rear brakes haven't been working in oh say since i got the car. So after staying up to 2:30 am and rebuilding everything .....EVERYTHING on the rear brakes and 4 trips to the parts store the car stopped like a champ. But now the tires decided they wanted to start getting soft and making strange vibrations. Off to the tire shop i went and $530 later i had a pretty sweet set of Yokohama Geolander tires to handle the 12" average snow fall they have here in January. After those my transmission decided it didn't want to leave first gear. I took it to a transmission shop but they could not find anything wrong with it so they wanted to take a chance on a $200 throttle position sensor. I told them i would wait on it and promptly picked it up and got the part for $40 and after 3 mins removing 2 screws it was in. Didn't solve the problem but hey it runs better but after a little practice of patting the gas at the right time it shifts good..... sorta. After those tires i needed a front wheel alignment so i had a guy at work do that for me so i set up an appointment for 3:30pm. Unfortunately my watch was some how set 1 hour ahead at the watch shop where i bought it so it ended up not getting done until 9:30 at night.

Where that might have ended the saga for the car i still went to bed at 12:30am and woke up at 2:00am to drive the 6 hours to get here. Upon packing everything in the car and setting up the GPS laptop (another blog in its self) i prepared to ventured out into the wild highways of Michigan. after getting the car warmed up taking some pictures with my folks i went to adjust my rear view mirror.... which promptly fell off. But needless to say i have arrived safely and I'm sure i will have plenty of stories to tell but those will come on another day.

For now I'm back and better than ever.

Back on the block.

Working too hard is a bad thing. Since I'm leaving soon (well October) I'm trying to get everything done that i promised and I'm trying to finish my dads car. So far i have succeeded in organizing the whole garage putting the project car in the center so its easily accessible, untangle / organize the air hose from the air compressor, clean the entire thing out and organize all the tools, remove 2 bushes for a friend and cut down some trees, paint a whole house, build a portable hard drive for someone and fill it with anime.... shoot theres tons more but i forget. Oh well now things are settling down i can get back to writing that is if anyone is still reading lol.

Summer Time Fitness.... and Kind of Random Extra Stuff

I will be able to fix these when i graduate!

I started working out again since its summer time and I'm still packing my winter weight. I guess its true what they say "you loose what you don't use". I'm back to my base weight that I was lifting when i first started and I'm sore all over. Well at least i will be back training 6 days a week to jump back in shape quick.

I bought a satellite radio for work and man it is nice not having to worry about loosing my station through out my 10 hours of driving at work every day. Too bad they have to crush the trucks at the end of the testing period even though its wired up with all kinds of thermal couples and sensors its still better than my jeep....... that's .... pretty sad. But now that I'm enrolled in school i can post more on here and work out.

Bad news though is the price of school. Lets just say i could get a nice small car with the price of the whole tuition. I guess you have to look at it as i will be making more money when i graduate so i can pay it off faster? Or perhaps you end up owing so much that the payments eat all your extra earnings?? Oh well onward an upward.

Summer Time.... and The Livin' Is Easy.... Who Am i KIdding?

Wow a long break there but i had tons to do. Finishing up finals, working extra days at work, helping my parents with the company, and just the crazy complications of life. Good news is I may possibly be going to Wyotech (http://www.wyotech.com/) automotive school this fall. Its pretty amazing how every where i got some how recruiters like to attach to me and call me back i think its some kind of sign. I'm not really learning on the latest equipment at my current school and it not going in the direction i want it to. I want to do dynamometer work and or just engines in general and working on a 1986 escort engine is not it. So I have to call the recruiter in a few minutes actually to see if i can get an appointment for an interview to see if they will take me. My grades are good in the classes i took so i will just got there for the 9 months then come back and finish my degree here and my welding certification. This will be awesome because i will actually be learning about more modern types of automotive systems and chances are i can get hired right after school! My current job said they will gladly hold my job for me while I'm gone so I am thrilled about that just in case no one wants to hire me right away. I am thinking of specializing in diesel and heavy diesel systems because i believe lots of cars are going to be switching to diesel and besides that its pretty cool stuff. I love cars and want to go into high-performance but the principles of a diesel engine and a gas are similar enough.

Going shooting in the next few weeks too. That should be fun i have never shot a gun before but think i would like to make long shots with rifles vs a pistol its seem much cooler with the rifle especially bolt action ones. My one .50 cal rifle I'm going to have inspected cause i don't know much about guns and i want to make sure its safe to fire since its been sitting for forever. I will definitely be shooting that way later after I'm used to my fathers .22 first. People say I'm crazy for getting it as my first rifle but i say hey if you going to go, go big!

We have officially opened my parents place by the lake for the summer let the naps begin! Its in Jackson, MI and is one of the quietest places you can snooze. I spent this past weekend setting up their gazebo and putting in some furniture. The photo may look crappy because it taken with my camera.

So in summary looks like this summer could be interesting and holds lots of prospects. Let the cruising and napping begin.

All over the place

A nice house from Marine city

The ferry in Algonac

A sign from Memphis
Board walk on the Huron River

Well i haven't been writing lately because if extreme writers block. I would get in some kind of good convo and when i want to blog about it i cant because I'm at work. But by the time i get off work and go to school and then home, that idea is looooooong gone. Well anyway i started taking my camera with me to work so i can take pictures of strange or interesting stuff i can find while on the road. There is lots of stuff i see that i have to wonder what the heck is that. And there are some really nice houses that are way out there. Like the 30,000 square foot house that's in Romeo Michigan, talk about huge. But i have to wonder where in the world do these people work? Some of the houses are so far out in like farm land i know that they cant be farmers. Do they just make the extreme commute to the city? I cant really talk i used to drive 89 miles 1 way to Tecumseh, MI when i worked for the state, but theses people have to drive further that that. With the up coming gas price hike i will be looking for a 4 cylinder car to cruise in because if gas hits $3.00 a gallon i wont be able to afford the small commute to work that i do. Hey Exxon/Mobil can you front me a couple gallons till next winter?

Random Wed.

  • As usual I sit in my car while waiting to go to class so i usually take a nap. Well it was pretty windy today so the car was rocking with the wind. I was dozing nicely when all of a sudden I hear a loud bump and my car rock harder than normal. I lean forward in my seat and raise my hat from over my eyes and look to the left and right. Apparently a young girl had let her door go and the wind smashed it into my door. Well I'm not driving the most nicest car in the world and my bumper is a little dented from where some other lady slid into the back of me, but i didn't even get an I'm sorry. Nope she slams her door looks over wit ha frightened look on her face starts the car and speeds off. Love those young drivers.

  • I cant seem to get rid of the cough left over from my lung infection its to the point that its annoying and if i move around too much i cough a lot. Good side..... coughing gives you abs.

  • I talked to my ex-girlfriend about our friend ship turns out she just doesn't have time when she comes back to talk or call. That's why i never know when shes here. Guess I'm the only one who can remain friends with an ex and not hate them according to the local census.

More to come later time for bed

Only in Detroit.....

If i move in there and someone comes in they are in for a BIG surprise cause I'm not playing.

Only in Detroit can you not have anything nice just sitting minding its own business. Downtown we have a spare house that was my aunts. Its been there since what has to be the Early 1900's and it has mural walls its pretty cool. Well some lazy folks (insert profanity if you want i know i want too) decided it would be a great place to remove the pipes from out of the newly plastered bathroom, all the venting from the basement, the valve from the gas fireplace, and even the @#*^# water meter. Yes.... the water meter too. I have no idea how a scrap yard will take a water meter but I'm sure they will after all no one cares, this is Detroit.
